Meet Savannah
I believe that life can only be described as "living" if you're experiencing the full spectrum of what it ultimately means to be Human.
I also believe that life is most interesting (and tolerable) when lived in a series of experiments, attempting to understand what lies deep below the surface of Life.
And, between you and me, I think one of the quickest ways to limit your potential, is to place all that you are, do, and want to be, into clearly defined labels.
Yes, I appreciate the irony in having defined what "living" means.
But that's just me.
And yes, I'm filled to the brim with all sorts of unpopular opinions like these.
Hi, I'm Savannah.
If you've made it this far, then you and my non-conforming sarcasm just might stand a chance of getting along.
The Primal Revolution
Some refer to it as the "ultimate human experience."
I call it The Primal Revolution.
The idea that you can't really say that you're "living" unless you're actively engaging in the full spectrum of what it means to be Human.
Physically. Mentally. Emotionally. Sexually. Creatively. Sensually. Intellectually.
Primal. We're going back to the roots that sparked our innermost fire in the very beginning.
Competition. Flow.
Contradictions? Some may say so, but at the foundation, they're all connected. At first glance, they look like Yin and Yang - the more feminine expression seen in my yoga photography compared to the more masculine competition captured in my CrossFit photography. And yet...
Both can be Primal. Both can spark a Revolution. In yoga, we find the deepest of our roots in soft surrender. In CrossFit, we find our roots in sweat, determination and competition.
The roots spread from the idea of the "primal revolution" to emanate some of my favorite feelings.
Passion. Desire. Pride. Courage. A sense of adventure. Spark (you know the one I'm talking about).
Do those strike a fire in your heart? If so, I'd say that you've met your creative match!
Professional Bio
With more than five years in the photography business within the (Paleo/Primal) fitness & health industry, I bring cinematic lighting to breathtaking locations.
My work is weaved with the threads of my creative eye, understanding of composition, expertise in lighting (both on location and in the studio), expansive knowledge of copyright law & business, and the science of photography.
While much of what I create is thanks to experience, I have to give big credit to my BFA earned at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA. I graduated in 2012 with a specialization in Advertising & Commercial photography.
